Installation Instructions
- Measure your simulator floor thickness to ensure a proper fit. Cup should fit 1/8" lower than total depth of the floor as measured from midpoint in the turf. Always ensure cup depth is less than total depth of the floor + turf. It's easy to shim the cup up on install using carpet tape or carboard, but the cup needs to sit below the playing surface to allow the ball to drop in. If you are inbetween sizes, simply size down.
- Cut the existing turf using a razor blade or box knife while using the Shallow Cup as a guide. Keep turf remnant as a plug for finished look.
- Cut simulator foam/subfloor using 4" hole saw or box knife.
- Insert the golf cup so that it sits flush with the floor surface.
- Secure the cup if necessary to prevent movement or trim cup up using carpet tape.
- Test with a golf ball to ensure a smooth drop and natural sound.
Be sure to add a Shallow Insert for a truly finished installation.

Installation Steps
No special tools. No subfloor modifications. Just a clean, professional putting experience.
Cut Your Turf
Trace the Shallow Cup on your turf, then use a 4" hole saw or razor knife to cut and remove the turf plug for installation.
Drop In The Cup
The shallow cup seats directly into your turf layer. No adhesive, no fasteners, no coring into the concrete or subfloor beneath.
Putt Away
Replace the turf plug over the insert when not in use. The surface looks seamless and your putting experience feels like the real thing.

How do I know which depth to order?
How do I know which depth to order?
Measure the distance from the top of your turf surface down to the subfloor or concrete beneath it. That measurement is your depth. Most foam tile builds fall between 1"–1.5". Most glue-down or staple-down turf systems on concrete run 1.5"–2". If you're between two sizes, size up — a slightly deeper cup is better than one that sits proud above the surface.
Will it work with my turf brand?
Will it work with my turf brand?
Shallow Cups is designed to work with any simulator turf system, regardless of brand. As long as your turf is between 1" and 2" thick and sits on a flat subfloor, it will fit. If your turf is thicker than 2", contact us and we'll discuss custom sizing.
Is the diameter regulation size?
Is the diameter regulation size?
Yes. The Shallow Cup is 4.25 inches in diameter — exactly the same as a regulation golf hole. The ball drops and rolls in identically to a real cup on a real green.
Can I use it on natural grass or outdoor turf?
Can I use it on natural grass or outdoor turf?
No. Shallow Cups is designed specifically for indoor simulator turf systems installed over a flat subfloor. It is not suitable for natural grass or outdoor installations.
